NAVFone PLUS to help save travelling costs through innovative ERP estimation feature
AGIS partners Yellow Pages Singapore to launch latest version of Symbian & Window-based mobile phone software
SINGAPORE – 13 November 2008 – AGIS, the leading mapping and navigation company in Southeast Asia, today announced the availability of NAVFone PLUS – an upgraded version of its highly popular GPS navigation software. The NAVFone PLUS, which AGIS had developed in collaboration with Yellow Pages Singapore, will tap into the latter’s rich database of company listings for products and services to provide a seamless end-to-end search and navigation experience to its users.
Being a first in Singapore, the NAVFone PLUS will also bring GPS navigation technology to a new level by incorporating an ERP estimation feature, in which users will be able to estimate the ERP charges that they are likely to incur when travelling to their choice destinations during peak hours. On the same note, NAVFone PLUS can furthermore propose a suggested “ERP-free” route to its users for their consideration.
“With the growing number of ERP gantries in Singapore in recent years, travelling to town and the CBD area for work has become increasingly expensive. Through NAVFone PLUS, users will now be able to make better and more informed decisions in which route to take when travelling and save unnecessary costs as a result,” said Sunny Lim, Head of Navigation for AGIS.
With the new NAVFone module, users will also be able to easily search for the 160,000 listed merchants available on the Internet Yellow Pages, simply by keying in the company name or categories. The search results will provide the telephone numbers, addresses and for certain businesses even additional information like operating hours, and subsequently allow users to dial and set the selected merchant as the navigation destination.
“Our partnership with Yellow Pages will allow users to enjoy a seamless end-to-end search and navigation experience. NAVFone PLUS users can count on the software suite to find anything from a good restaurant, cinema, or the nearest pub to chill-out at; and then guide them to that desired destination with its powerful GPS and mapping functionalities,”
Lim added.
“As the largest publishers of directories in Singapore, Yellow Pages has always been a trusted source for Singaporeans in locating products and services that they need. With the rising popularity of the Internet and mobile phones over the years, we have made available the directory listings in these mediums as well in order to serve the customers better,” said Danny Chow, CEO, Yellow Pages Singapore. “Through NAVFone PLUS, we will be able to extend our outreach to a much wider audience who are typically more tech savvy and are always on the move.”
As part of its release, NAVFone PLUS will be bundled exclusively with the Samsung INNOV8, the first 8-megapixel camera phone launched in Singapore. “Samsung has always believed in providing additional value to our consumers, and the AGIS NAVFone PLUS is a perfect complement to our latest flagship phone,” said Felix Yeo, General Manager (Telecommunications Products), Electronics Business Division, Samsung Asia Pte Ltd. “The Samsung INNOV8’s large and hi-resolution 2.8” screen allows for an excellent search and navigation user experience.”
To enjoy these new and innovative features, NAVFone PLUS is now available for both new and existing NAVFone users and can be purchased at AGIS’ website. For more information, please visit us at http://www.asiagis.com.
