California Fitness Launches Global Dance-Aerobics Craze BODYJAM™

So you think you can dance? World's hottest fitness trend pulsates with latest dance moves

Released: 29 September 2008, Hong Kong, China

Asia’s premier fitness chain, California Fitness, is introducing the world’s most popular dance and aerobics craze to Hong Kong.

With the emphasis on having fun as much as breaking a sweat, the unique form of self-expression and party workout teaches the tricks of the world’s great dance stars while delivering a strong full-body cardio workout that melts calories.

The 60-minute classes are an addictive fusion of dance and aerobics incorporating hip hop, line dance, jazz, and contemporary rock, against the BACKDROP of cool chart-topping sounds.

“It is cardio fun at its best for those with a passion for movement. You not only burn calories and increase your fitness levels, but also greatly improve co-ordination and tone your abs and waist. Finally, you also learn to dance better,” said California Fitness Regional Group X Manager, Michael Thomas.

“There have been so many movies and TV shows about dance lately, and, most famously, the sensational success of ‘The Whole City is Dancing’ on TVB and ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. Now everyone in Hong Kong wants to learn how they can emulate these moves,” he added.

BODYJAM™ is easy to learn and suitable for everyone. It starts with simple steps then the trainer adds a few different moves towards the end of the 60 minute class, and the participants dance like performers on MTV!
Colin Heggie, President of California Fitness, said: “California Fitness promotes a fit and healthy lifestyle by encouraging people to exercise and by offering our members a more dynamic and fun element of exercise. Introducing BODYJAM™ to our Hong Kong clubs is an important part of our ongoing commitment to help people live better through fitness. We hope more people can enjoy the benefits from this exciting fitness dance.”
BODYJAM™ classes are currently running in over 11,000 clubs in more than 70 countries, with an estimated five million participants per week.

Great music and passionate instructors inspire exhilarating workouts that more and more club members are making part of their regular fitness routine.

Starting from 27 September, members of California Fitness can enjoy this exciting craze at all California Fitness clubs. Master Trainer Remi Brouns also introduces the tricks of the world’s great dancers at a ‘BODYJAM™ Super Launch’ party on September 27 at CLIQ CLUB.
