Hong Kong Science Park is hosting live coverage of the Beijing Olympics for the general public on giant high-definition screens daily.
The ‘Beijing 2008 Olympic Games - HD Live Broadcast @ Science Park’ initiative is free of charge up until the games close on August 24.
Live broadcasting is being screened at three air-conditioned, indoor locations at Hong Kong Science Park, located beside Tolo Harbour on the outskirts of Sha Tin – close to University MTR Station.
A giant 5M x 4M LED display shows events at the Phase 1 Atrium, with 4M x 3M video walls at G/F Lakeside 1 and G/F Lakeside 2 in Phase 2 of the expanding complex until the evening.
Adjacent to the video walls are a Chinese restaurant, open-air cafes, Taiwan-styled tea house and food court at the Science Park which provide an array of delightful food choices for spectators while watching the Olympics.
While at the Science Park, visitors are also invited to join regular weekend tours under the “Open to the Tech Public” programme. The show exhibits the cutting-edge technologies and products pursued by partners of the Park. Designed to appeal to both adults and children, the tours take about an hour.
Local community groups, associations and youth centres are also welcome to enjoy the big-screen spectacle, a particularly attractive opportunity of viewing with a group of friends in a cool and relaxed environment.
For ease of accommodating larger groups (20 people and above), they are requested to register three days in advance on fax 2629 1833 with estimated numbers attending.
For enquiries and registration forms, please call 2629 6873.
