Torex Announces Strategy For Growth In Asia-Pacific Region

Appoints Jim Handy to lead international expansion and develop new routes to market

Torex Retail Holdings Limited (Torex™), the leading European-based global provider of software and solutions to the extended retail marketplace, today announced its strategy for growth in the Asia-Pacific region with a particular emphasis on China, South East Asia, India and Australia. Torex is committed to building a successful business and expanding its presence in these territories through direct customer engagements and developing a strong partner network.

At the same time Torex has announced the appointment of Jim Handy as President, International to spearhead the company’s investment and growth plans outside of the UK and Continental Europe. Handy will be responsible for growing and developing the business and providing leadership and direction to the regional team. He brings to the role more than 20 years experience in managing IT software companies in the Americas and Asia Pacific region including senior management positions with SSA Global and Geac Canada.

Under Handy’s leadership, Torex will strengthen its footprint in the Asia-Pacific Japan region and to support global clients as they expand into and across the region. In addition, Torex will develop distribution channels to help expand across the region. These initiatives will reinforce the existing Torex regional organisation comprising of offices in Singapore, Malaysia, China and Australia and a customer base that includes Esplanade and TT International Ltd. Torex will also look to open an office in India in the coming months to support its growth plans there.

In support of Jim, Nathan Roik has been appointed to the position of Vice President of Operations, International. Nathan brings strong experience of operations to the role and his team will ensure smooth and timely delivery. Stanley Lee, based in Singapore, will be the Managing Director of Torex Asia to help drive growth in the region.
